Alabama state law for x-ray film and other medical records retention period.

Alabama law requires health care providers and hospitals to keep medical records such as x-ray film for a specific period of time.

Hospitals in Alabama must keep medical records for at least 5 years. Doctors are advised to keep your medical record for at least 10 years.
